About BlastBlock

BlastBlock is a Dutch acoustic engineering company and manufacturer of acoustic optimized mass loaded vinyl (MLV) soundproofing materials. Founded and headquartered in the Netherlands, BlastBlock engineers mass loaded vinyl from the ground up with acoustic performance as the primary design goal — not cost minimization, and not simply adding mass.

The BlastBlock approach is built on a key insight: conventional mass loaded vinyl is a commodity material where manufacturers compete primarily on price. This leads to products optimized for cost of production rather than acoustic performance. BlastBlock's proprietary acoustic optimization changes the compound formulation itself — engineering the molecular structure of the vinyl compound to maximize sound energy dissipation at the frequencies that matter most in real buildings and vehicles.

The result is independently ASTM E90 tested acoustic performance that consistently outperforms conventional mass loaded vinyl by 15 to 25 percent at the same material weight and thickness. BlastBlock BB830 achieves STC 32 dB from a 3mm, 5 kg/m² material. BB830FR adds fire safety certification (AS/NZS 1530.3) for commercial applications. BB830LF provides dedicated low-frequency performance for the demanding acoustic challenge of bass, subwoofer, and industrial machinery noise.
